How to insert row(s) in an Excel Spreadsheet

Previously I used the built-in help feature to add a row to an Excel spreadsheet. It works fine, but it doesn't tell you how to do it, it just does it!
I expect that I will need to do it many times in the future.
Please help.

To insert rows in an Excel worksheet, use any of these methods.

    On Windows (desktop Excel)

    1. Select a cell in the row where a new row is needed.
    2. On the ribbon, go to Home > Insert > Insert Sheet Rows.
      • This inserts a row above the selected row.
    3. To delete a row, select a cell in that row and go to Home > Delete > Delete Sheet Rows.

    Alternatively:

    1. Right-click the row number on the left where a row should be inserted.
    2. Select Insert to insert a row above.
    3. To remove a row, right-click the row number and select Delete.

    In Excel for the web

    1. Right-click the whole row above which a new row is needed.
    2. Select Insert Rows.

    To insert multiple rows:

    1. Select the same number of existing rows as the number of new rows needed, directly above where they should appear.
    2. Right-click the selection and choose Insert Rows.
