Uh oh! We're unable to process your payment. Please call your card issuer for further details – Exam payment issue

I am facing an issue while trying to make payment for a Microsoft certification exam. For the past 5 days, I have been continuously getting the following error message:

"Uh oh! We're unable to process your payment. Please call your card issuer for further details."

To resolve this, I have already tried multiple approaches:

  • Used different web browsers

Tried multiple debit/credit cards

Attempted payments using cards from different banks

Ensured that international transactions are enabled on all cards

I contacted Pearson VUE support, and they mentioned that the issue might be from the bank side. However, I checked with my banks, and they confirmed:

There are no restrictions on my cards

International transactions are enabled

No transactions are being blocked

Despite all these checks, I am still unable to complete the payment.

This issue has been ongoing for 5 days now, and I would really appreciate any help or guidance to resolve it.

Thank you

Any updates regarding this? I am also facing the same issue. I previously took an exam in Sri Lanka, and now I am trying to book one in Singapore. I am unable to make the payment through Pearson VUE and keep getting the same error. This is not a bank issue, as the payment has not even reached them. It must be blocked on the Pearson VUE gateway side.

I am having the same issue for 3 weeks now, not only Pearson Vue handled nothing but they blocked my account at first after I tried many attempts with different cards, and somehow after calling the customer service which is not free btw didn't fix nothing at all, and took all my money I had on my phone, after I escalated things in the live chat they managed somehow to unblock my account but I didn't get a refund about the money they wasted.
Anyhow I continued to make the payment first at home for several times and the same issue the card issuer is the problem, contacted them like all the comments nothing came through to even reach to the attempt let alone payment.

But then I tried to select to take the exam into a test center and the payment went through, I cancelled that schedule and now I am trying to schedule the exam at home with the SAME CARD and the payment is not going through!
I don't know what the issue is or how to fix this but I need a solution ASAP.

I have similar issues - I have been trying with three different credit cards for the last few weeks and it is still not resolved.

I tried with a different learning account , still does not work. Tried chatting with pearson vue support - they say they cant help. Tried calling my credit card company - they say the payment is not reaching their gateway. It is something to do with Microsoft only - I was able to book an amazon exam with the same credit card without issues on Pearson Vue

I have submitted a ticket with microsoft now - waiting for them to respond and resolve the problem

I faced the same issue. I tried multiple cards, different computers, and even mobile phones, but got the same error every time. I also checked with the bank, and they confirmed they could not see any transaction attempt, which means the payment request is not even reaching the bank. You may also notice that the error appears immediately after clicking pay.

What worked for me was using a card other than a regular bank credit/debit card, such as a virtual card or a card linked to an investment/payment app. I’m in the UAE, and I successfully used a card associated with O Gold, which is a gold investment app.

You can similarly try with any bank virtual card, or cards/services like Etisalat Wallet, Botim Money, or similar payment apps.
