Canceling an Xbox subscription does not automatically guarantee a refund. Refunds depend on eligibility and must be checked/requested through the account.

To see whether a refund is being issued for an Xbox/Game Pass subscription:

    1. Go to the Xbox order history page and sign in: Open Order history.
    2. Find the subscription transaction (the charge that was just made).
    3. Check the line for that product; if a refund has been approved, the refund status will be shown there.
    4. If the status shows that a refund was issued but the money is not yet back on the payment method, wait a few days; depending on the bank, it can take several days to process.

If no refund appears in order history, submit a refund request:

    1. Go to Request a refund for digital games: Request a refund for digital games and sign in.
    2. Select the relevant subscription/charge and choose Request a refund.
    3. Provide the reason (for example, accidental purchase) and select Next.
    4. Review the details and select Submit.

Digital subscriptions and Game Pass benefits (online multiplayer, downloaded Game Pass games) may affect eligibility, so the system will decide based on the refund rules. If online request options are not available in the region, contact Sales or Microsoft Store Support as indicated in the articles.
