Hello Microsoft Copilot Team,

I am writing to provide important feedback regarding a recent change in Copilot’s functionality. Until recently, Copilot was able to generate downloadable files such as Excel spreadsheets, which was extremely helpful and an essential part of my workflow. However, this capability appears to have been removed, and Copilot now only provides text output instead of actual downloadable files.

This change has significantly reduced the usefulness of Copilot for me. Many of my tasks rely on generating structured files (such as .xlsx or PDF) directly from Copilot, and losing this feature has made my work slower and more complicated.

I kindly request that you reconsider this limitation and restore the ability for Copilot to generate downloadable files. It was one of the most valuable features of the service, and its removal has had a real negative impact on productivity.

    For Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint):

    1. Use the thumbs up or thumbs down icons that appear next to a Copilot response.
    2. After selecting a thumb, fill in the feedback pane with details about the missing downloadable-file capability and how it affects productivity.

    5. Additionally, use the thumbs up/thumbs down icons on Copilot messages in Teams chats to rate responses and add verbatim comments.

    For Copilot-powered features in Viva Connections (for example, news summaries):

    1. Use the thumbs up or thumbs down icons that appear within the Copilot-generated summary.
    2. Add comments explaining that the ability to generate downloadable files (such as .xlsx or PDF) is important and should be restored.

    All of these channels send feedback to Microsoft for review and consideration when evolving Copilot capabilities.
