How to retrieve and validate my MCP windows XP certification on my Microsoft learn portal

Legacy MCP certifications such as Windows XP may no longer appear automatically in the Microsoft Learn profile because some older certifications have aged out of the current Certification Program and are not shown in customer profiles.

To attempt to recover or validate this legacy MCP certification and have it associated with the current Learn account, the only supported path is to contact Microsoft Credentials Support so they can investigate the old MCP ID and records:

1. Go to the online Credentials Support page: https://www.aka.ms/credentialssupport.
2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used for the current Learn profile (or the account that should hold the certification).
3. Ensure Product family is set to Learning and Product or Service is Microsoft Credentials.
4. Choose the category that best matches the issue (for example, missing certifications or profile issues).
5. Select Professional No Charge as the support type.
6. Provide a clear description of the issue, including:
   • That this is an old MCP Windows XP certification from 2010.
   • Any MCP ID or Credential ID details available.
   • The Learn username (from Learn profile settings).
   • Screenshots of any evidence of the certification, if available.
7. Submit the case and use the case number shown to track status.

If the certification is too old and has fully aged out, it may not be restorable to the Learn profile, but Credentials Support is the only team that can confirm what is still on record and provide any official verification options.
