Issues with my Xiaomi Laptop Touchpad

I am using a Xiaomi Laptop and my Touchpad stops working randomly. I am running Windows 11 Insiders Version. It's happening from 6 Months, I guess. It stops working, after a Few Restarts sometimes Days it starts working.

Before you assume it's a Hardware issue, it isn't. The touchpad is working well in BIOS Mode.

I have checked the Device Manager when it fails it says something like, the HID Descriptor failed to Communicate with the device. Then I try uninstalling the device and restarting the laptop, no luck. Once it's gone, it's gone for a long amount of time.

I tried reinstalling Windows through an ISO Drive, Updating the Drivers, Manually Adding the Device through Add Legacy Hardware Option.

Kindly Help Me Sort this Out. It's breaking my Momentum while working.

    Since you’ve already ruled out many common causes, here are a few additional methods you can try

    1. Disable power saving for the I2C HID device

    This prevents Windows from putting the I2C controller or touchpad into a low‑power state, which can cause the device to fail to wake up.

    • W + X > Open Device Manager
    • Expand Human Interface Devices > Open I2C HID Device > Go to Power Management tab
    • Uncheck: Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
    • Repeat this for:

    HID‑compliant touch pad

    HID‑compliant mouse (if present)

    2. Disable and re‑enable the I2C HID driver

    This forces Windows to reinitialize the device and can temporarily recover communication if the driver is stuck in a failed state.

    Right‑click I2C HID Device > Select Disable device, then Enable device

    3. Reinstall drivers from Xiaomi’s official support page

    This helps ensure Windows is using Xiaomi‑validated chipset and I2C drivers, rather than generic or Insider‑provided drivers.

    Note: This is a third‑party website operated by Xiaomi, not by Microsoft. The content and downloads are maintained by the device manufacturer.

    From there, select your exact laptop model (Mi Notebook Pro / Ultra / Redmibook, etc.)

    Since the touchpad relies on the I2C stack, reinstall the following drivers in this order:

    • Chipset driver
    • Serial IO driver (critical for I2C HID communication)
    • Power Management / DPTF (if listed)
    • Touch Panel / Touchpad‑related driver (if listed)

    After downloading, extract and install each driver manually, then restart the PC.
