I'm not receiving log in codes nor activation keys from other websites. Where are the support agents?

I purchased Movavi video editor years ago, got a new laptop, and unfortunately am trying to transfer program files to the new one. Also unfortunate, years ago I used Outlook/Hotmail as my email. I have not gotten any emails that I need EXCEPT spam and emails with ads. I can't log into anything without verifying my email, but I can't verify it if I never RECEIVE the email. And this happened more than once. What is with Outlook? Can someone please tell me how I can get this email? I can't even change my Movavi email until I log in using this one! This is sending me in a loop and making me angry.

I'm also disgusted with the customer service process. I spend money on 365 just to be told I have to post to this community? Where are all the customer support agents? One answer doesn't fit all, and most of it is hardly understandable to me, as someone who is neurodivergent. I need someone who can walk me through this, but it's not very helpful when I'm told to try "self-help". These tools are not good if I have no idea what it's saying.

Several different things can stop Outlook.com/Hotmail from receiving login codes and activation emails, and there are also limits to what support agents are allowed to do. Below is a step‑by‑step path focused on getting those emails to arrive and then how to reach a human for help.

    1. Check where the emails are going
    2. Open Outlook.com in a browser and sign in to the affected account.
    3. Check these folders carefully:
      • Junk Email
      • Other (if Focused/Other inbox is enabled)
      • Any custom folders that might have rules moving messages.
    4. For Microsoft verification emails specifically, look for messages from @accountprotection.microsoft.com.
      • If found, mark them Not junk and add @accountprotection.microsoft.com as a trusted sender so future codes go to Inbox.
    5. Confirm the address and avoid blocks from too many attempts

When other websites send codes to the Outlook/Hotmail address:

    1. On those websites, confirm the email shown is exactly the same as the Outlook/Hotmail address (spelling and domain).
    2. Avoid repeatedly clicking “Resend code” or trying many different addresses in a short time.
      • Microsoft may temporarily block sending verification codes if there are excessive or repetitive requests or unusual activity associated with the account or region.
      • If this happened, wait for some time (the block is temporary) before trying again.
    3. Check for regional or device issues with SMS codes (if used)

If some sites send codes by SMS to a phone that is also used with the Microsoft account:

    1. Make sure the phone is not blocking texts from unknown numbers.
    2. Ensure the SMS inbox is not full and the messaging app is working correctly.
    3. If in a region where SMS services are limited or temporarily unavailable, delivery can fail or be delayed.
    4. Verify and update Microsoft account security info

If the Outlook/Hotmail account itself sometimes needs verification codes and they are not arriving, update the security info:

    1. Go to the Security basics page and sign in with the Microsoft account.
    2. Select Update info.
    3. Check that the listed phone numbers and alternate email addresses are correct.
    4. If one method works (for example, a backup email), use that to sign in and then:
      • Add a new email or phone that is reliable.
      • Remove any old or unused security info.
    5. If none of the methods work, choose I don't have any of these and follow the steps to replace security info.
    6. If using another Microsoft account as backup

    If the backup/alternate email ends in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com, there is a common sign‑in trap:

    1. When signing in to the second Microsoft account to read the code, the browser may automatically sign out of the first account that requested the code.
    2. To avoid this:
      • Open a browser in privacy/incognito mode.
      • Sign in to the first account (the one asking for the code) and leave that window open.
      • Open a new privacy/incognito window.
      • Sign in to the alternate Microsoft account there and read the code.
      • Go back to the first window and enter the code.
    3. Understand account security blocks

If Microsoft detects unusual activity, the account may be temporarily blocked or restricted:

    • Verification messages may not be sent until the security issue is resolved.
    • Heavy compromised traffic from a region can also delay or block code delivery. These situations usually resolve automatically after some time.
    1. Use Microsoft’s automated helpers for sign‑in problems

If there are still problems signing in or receiving codes for the Microsoft account itself:

    1. Use the sign‑in helper tool to diagnose common sign‑in and verification issues.
    2. If the account is locked or access is lost, use the account recovery form and provide as much accurate information as possible (recent contacts, subjects, folders, old passwords, etc.). This is the official path when normal verification methods fail.
    3. How to reach a real support agent

For Outlook.com/Hotmail and Microsoft account issues, support is structured so that:

    • Support agents are not allowed to:
      • Send verification codes.
      • Send password reset links.
      • Directly change account details.
    • This is to protect the account and its contents.

However, agents can still guide through the process.

    To contact support:

    1. Go to Contact Microsoft Support.
    2. Enter a description such as “Not receiving verification codes / activation emails in Outlook.com” and select Get Help.
    3. If the automated suggestions do not solve the issue, choose Contact Support.
    4. Based on region and account type, available options may include:
      • Web chat with an agent.
      • Call‑back or phone support.

For sign‑in issues specifically, if unable to sign in at all, use the Sign‑in helper first; if still stuck, use Contact Microsoft Support from any other Microsoft account (or create a new one) to talk to an agent about the problem and the recovery process.

    1. Practical next steps for the Movavi situation

To get activation emails from Movavi and other sites into Outlook/Hotmail:

    1. Clean up and check Junk/Other folders.
    2. Make sure no rules are moving messages away.
    3. Ask Movavi to resend the activation email after the above checks.
    4. Avoid repeatedly requesting codes in a short time.
    5. If still nothing arrives, test by sending a simple email from a different account (for example, a friend’s email) to the Outlook/Hotmail address to confirm that normal mail is delivered.
    6. If normal mail works but codes/activations do not, focus on:
      • Junk filtering and trusted senders.
      • Any temporary blocks due to unusual activity.
      • Contacting Microsoft Support via Contact Support for guidance.
