    Dear @Goodchild, Sonja,
Welcome to Q&A forum. I understand that you are trying to download Microsoft Project using your university account. You signed in to the Azure portal, but Project does not appear in the software list, and the instructions you found were unclear.

Easy explanation Having an Azure account or Azure for Students does not automatically include Microsoft Project.

For students, Microsoft Project is only available if:

    • Your university participates in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, and
    • Your university has chosen to include Microsoft Project in their student software catalog

If your university does not include Project, it will not appear in Azure. This is expected behavior and depends on your school’s licensing, not on your account setup.

    I recommend 2 options below:

1/ Check Microsoft 365 account licenses

If possible, please sign in to the following page using your school (work or school) account: https://portal.office.com/account/?ref=Harmony

After signing in, look under Apps and Devices and check whether Microsoft Project is listed.

    User's image

    • If Project appears there, you should be able to install it.
    • If Project does not appear, it means the license has not been assigned to your account.

2/ Check Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

    Sign in at: https://aka.ms/devtoolsforteaching

Then go to Education > Software and search for Project.

If Project is still not listed

It means your university does not provide Microsoft Project to students, or it has not been assigned to your account.

In this case, please contact your university IT department or campus software support and ask:

    • Whether Microsoft Project is included for students
    • Whether they can assign or provide access to Microsoft Project

Only the university can enable this.

Note: You are signing in correctly and did the right steps. This is a licensing availability question controlled by the university, not a problem with your Azure account.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
