Other features or issues related to Microsoft Partner Center
There is no built‑in “package flight for all Microsoft employees” option in Partner Center package flights.
Package flights themselves only define which packages go to which audience; the audience is controlled via:
- Known user groups (for PC apps) or
- Known device groups (for console/Xbox)
To make an app available only to Microsoft employees, configure the audience using one of the supported mechanisms, for example:
- For Windows Store apps already published: create a package flight and assign it to a known user group that contains only Microsoft employee accounts you want to target.
- For Xbox/game scenarios: use a Known User Group (PC) or Known Device Group (console) in a Package Flight, or work with the Xbox Insider team to set up a Private Audience that is restricted to Microsoft employees under NDA.
If the app has not yet been publicly published and must be completely hidden from everyone else, use Private audience instead of package flights. Private audience is the only option that ensures the Store listing is not visible to anyone outside the specified audience.
Key points:
- There is no global, pre‑defined “Microsoft employees” flight; a custom audience must be defined.
- For Store apps already public, use package flights + known user groups.
- For apps not yet public and that must be invisible to others, use Private audience under Visibility.
