My Onenote eat my note

Try these steps on the iPad to locate or recover the missing note content:

1. Use search in OneNote for iOS
   • On any page, tap Search on the bottom menu.
   • Type a unique word or phrase you remember from the missing note and tap Search.
   • If using an iPad, tap All Notebooks to search across all notebooks, not just the current section.
   • Tap any result to open the page.
   • If the section is password-protected, unlock it first; protected sections are not included in search.
2. Re‑open closed notebooks
   • In the Notebooks list, tap More Notebooks.
   • Open any notebook that might contain the note.
   • To see additional notebooks stored in OneDrive, tap Open more from OneDrive.
3. Check OneDrive directly
   • Sign in to OneDrive (web or OneDrive iOS app).
   • Browse folders such as Documents or Notebooks and open the notebook from there in OneNote.
4. Manually sync the notebook
   • On any page, tap Show Notebooks.
   • In the notebook list, pull down to force a sync.
   • To sync just one section, go to that section and pull down on the page list.
   • To sync just one notebook, go to any section in that notebook and pull down on the section list.

If the note still does not appear after search, reopening notebooks, and syncing, report the issue in the OneNote forums so the product team or other users can help investigate further.
