Have recently upgraded to Kaspersky Premium and since doing so I have had issues with my dictation software (Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking v15) which as ceased operating, only displays startup splash screen. Have uninstalled Nuance several times, reinstalled with Kaspersky turned off and it works, turn Kaspersky on it stops working even if I turn Kaspersky off again. Any fixes or ideas gratefully recieved. Nuance appears to be owned by Microsoft now.

The behavior matches a security/compatibility conflict between Dragon and third‑party software. Older Dragon add-ins are known to cause issues with Microsoft Office, and security products can similarly interfere with Dragon’s processes.

From the available information, the only supported, concrete steps are:

    1. Treat this as a third‑party conflict
      • Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Kaspersky Premium are both third‑party products. Their interoperability is outside the scope of Microsoft support.
      • Nuance products are supported only while the underlying third‑party environments are supported by their vendors, and issues that are a combination of a third‑party component and a Nuance solution may not be supported.
    2. Use vendor support channels
      • Contact Nuance Technical Support with details of the Kaspersky version, Dragon version, and Windows 11 build.
      • Contact Kaspersky support to check for known compatibility issues or required exclusions for Dragon processes.
    3. General pattern from similar add‑in issues
      • Older Dragon add-ins are known to cause problems with Office 2016 applications. The recommended approach in those cases is to update or remove the problematic add‑in.
      • By analogy, ensure Dragon is fully updated to the latest release supported on Windows 11, and apply any Nuance/Kaspersky hotfixes or configuration guidance they provide.

Because this is a third‑party interaction, any registry changes, antivirus exclusions, or low‑level configuration must come from Nuance or Kaspersky documentation/support to remain within supported boundaries.
