Invitations are blocked for this directory due to suspicious activity

We have encountered an issue where we are unable to invite any new B2B users to our Azure tenant. Seems to be a security mechanism that has kicked in automatically due to increased activity.

Response from the API: Entra External ID: Invitations are blocked for this directory due to suspicious activity.

Response from UI: "User invitation failed Insufficiant privileges to complete the operation."

We can no longer invite any new guests.
Our onboarding of legitimate users is fully blocked.
This is affecting critical business operations and timelines.

Please review and remove the "suspicious activity" block on our directory's invitation capability.
How do we make sure that this does not happen again in the future when inviting a large number of users in a short time frame?

Carl Schmidt As part of its security enhancements, Microsoft has anomaly detection systems in place to identify unusual activity, such as an unusually high number of invitations being sent from a tenant. If such anomalies are detected, the tenant may be temporarily blocked.

To unblock your tenant, please provide a business justification explaining the need for bulk invitations along with below details:

We need to get unblocked so that we can continue to invite new users. This issue is holding back a major project deadline and until fixed, will have a severe business impact.

Hi @VEMULA SRISAI , I am having the same issue for the exact same reason. I am blocked and needed to have several users added yesterday. This has greatly impacted our project and organization in ways I cannot begin to describe at this time. I put in a support ticket yesterday with a critical severity A which should have come with a response within 1 hour and it has been over 24. I can provide the support tracking number or any additional information you'd need to assist with unblocking my tenant ASAP as well.
