Microsoft Q&A and Learn Copilot cannot review or unlock individual assessment attempts.
For Microsoft Applied Skills assessment labs, the retake behavior is controlled automatically by the retake policy:
- Applied Skills assessment labs can be retaken 72 hours after the last attempt by selecting the assessment from the Microsoft Learn profile, as long as the attempt is recorded correctly.
- A launched lab counts as an attempt and the retake policy applies, even if it ends abruptly. However, labs are only scored if they are submitted.
- If an assessment attempt is in an inconsistent state (for example, showing “Error” and blocking the retake button), this requires direct support intervention.
To resolve the “Error” status and unlock the assessment:
- Contact Microsoft Training, Certification, and Program Support using the support entry point in the credentials help area: Training, Certification, and Program Support (microsoft.com).
- Provide details of the issue, including:
- Assessment: AB-730 – AI Business Professional (Applied Skills)
- Date/time of the attempt
- Screenshot or description of the “Error” status and missing retake button in the Microsoft Learn profile
- If the attempt involved connectivity or equipment issues and a Pearson VUE case was created, include the Pearson VUE case number so support can also determine whether a retake waiting-period waiver is appropriate under the exam/assessment retake policy.
If assistance is also needed with Pearson VUE scheduling behavior (e.g., the assessment not appearing as available to schedule), contact Pearson VUE Customer Support via the Microsoft page: Customer service :: Microsoft :: Pearson VUE.
Support can correct the attempt status or otherwise enable compliance with the retake policy so that the assessment can be launched again.
