For a scheduled Microsoft exam, the confirmation email address is tied to the Microsoft account and exam provider profile used at booking time. The email itself cannot simply be “redirected” from Outlook.com; instead, the contact/sign-in email on the underlying Microsoft account must be corrected so future messages go to the right address.
To correct the email used going forward:
- Update the Microsoft account aliases
- Go to the Manage how you sign in to Microsoft page: https://account.live.com/names/manage.
- Add the correct email address as an alias by selecting Add email and completing verification.
- After it is added, select Make primary on the correct email address if it should be the main sign-in and contact address.
- Optionally remove the wrong email alias if it appears there.
- If the wrong email is a completely separate Outlook.com account
- It is not possible to “move” an existing Outlook.com address from one Microsoft account to another or merge accounts. An existing Outlook.com address is permanently tied to its own Microsoft account and cannot be reused as an alias on a different account, even if the original account is closed.
- In that case, use the Microsoft account that actually owns the correct email going forward and ensure that is the one used when scheduling future exams.
- For the current exam appointment
- The confirmation already sent to the wrong address cannot be changed from Outlook.com alone. To update the contact email for this specific booking or to resend confirmation to the correct address, contact the exam delivery provider’s support (for example, Pearson VUE or Certiport) or Microsoft Certification Support via the official exam/credentials support channel and provide the correct email and your exam details.
