issue and not Microsoft's update.

Windows last update killed my motherboard.What microsoft will do about it.

At the beginning i tough it was impossible but after being on reddit and 4chan i understood that an update can rarely short a motherboard by flashing the power source multiple time its very unlikely but the symptoms of my computer unfortunately fit the description.Yesterday i was cleaning my setup like usual i see a windows update to do so i like most press on update usaly it says restarting not this time.It tried to close the steam services but was cut by a mysterious lack of power like if the psu died every but the computer was working so i decided to use my psu on an other computer and it works did some benchmark with it to be totally sure i tried plug-in my motherboard to a new psu nothing i dont know what happened but seriously never buying a windows computer again until y'all make a decent system cause in all my years of living around computer you are killing yourself microsoft i was respecting yall but in the past few year i had to fix my pc every week cause i couldn't use my system properly even went back to win 10 computer because i couldn't play all my source game on my win 11 pc.
Both of my pc are dying slowly and there is no way for me to upgrade them cause of the constant amount of money i have to put in pc components that gets killed every update so my question is will you fix your damn product?

(Windows updates are software and do not contain any supported or documented mechanism to deliberately “short” or electrically damage a motherboard or PSU.)
Its dumb to assume that a company would hurt is costumers deliberately.
A flaw is a flaw and it needs to be fixed
And the rest do not make sense like it could be a weak soldering or whatever
I do understand that point but it doesn't make sense for a motherboard to completely die and that he ssd his totally scrambled in a way that i cant even boot it normally on a new pc.

Asus z790 prime I even tried to bypass video card and plug in to the onboard video.

It is completely bricked and it only started having issues after I downloaded the update. Can’t open BIOS or anything. The BIOS corruption likely caused a surge of power that ruined one of the power rails.
I won’t be buying another windows product and I will be using apple products for my business until this gets resolved.
Also, I had one customer service agent hang up on me when I expressed my concern, another said he’d escalate this issue to higher management and they’d reach out (they never did). Crazy that a billion dollar company won’t pay for decent customer service.

This morning my PC having display issue, my monitor is connected to the GPU but it got no display, only blank monitor. Restarted it, then the windows said it is installing the updates which is normal because the windows have known to force its updates to users. After that, my PC showed me strange broken symptoms ive ever seen :-My monitor is flickering on and off around one or two seconds
-When I got to the desktop after entering my PIN, my monitor just displayed nothing, only black void of nothing, even though my GPU and display cable is okay.
-This is the strangest one. My motherboard's USB ports always have some kind of weird turn to being broken or not for every reboot/restarts. Lets say my USB port 1 for keyboard is working now, if I reboot it, the port 1 suddenly not working, but the other ports will work. It will reset again if I restart my PC again.
Sorry for my bad english, its not my first language. I really dont know what to do now because I literally cant acces my PC even though my games and works or assignment files are literally in there. Even if there is a backup, I cant continue my work because of my PC being a literal sitting brick now.

The MS update never completed according to WIN RE since it cannot UNINSTALL any updates since it has an uncompleted update inside Win 11 it said.
This update, attempted to inject new TPM keys etc or something like that into the BIOS. My BIOS itself comes up, and I have flash updated to newest which did not help. Now I went back to the version I used to have when it worked before the update. Still no OS will boot. I cannot even live run LINUX on it now! It says I have HARDWARE errors in the CPU. Well that will be the first time I have an AMD die on me which is less than 2 years old.I can get a WINDOWS install starting, but then when I attempt to F6 load drivers, I get WATCHDOG errors. Keep in mind, this similar issue after MS updates happened to me 4 times in the last 8 months. I reinstalled WINDOWS 11 all 4 times. Everything works fine without MS updates. This time I waited and used my PC without issue for 2 months straight or so. I was doing little updates here and there as I looked into what they were, so I figured I got the recent cumulative MS update that was fixed. Then this last one did something with tpm code, never completed or just down right corrupted something in the BIOS.
I also attempted loading WIN 10 on an SSD on a PCIe sata card. Technically the install completed. But it will not boot, and I get an infinite boot loop...... TPM on or OFF, Secure boot on or off. I have been in the business since 1998 so I am well aware of all the bios settings to try. CLEAR CMOS, upgrade it downgrade it etc. RAM is less than 1 year old. and is not an issue. Tests fin
Yes I was running AMD RAID but i have since 2010. Yes with different hardware, drives etc without issue. Bought a NEW Ryzen CPU and installed it after updating my BIOS to the recommended one, just so I could go to Win11 since we are "sort of" made to go to 11 eventually. Obviously dumb mistake, and I will never use WINDOWS again. Back to Linux for me. Just cannot believe I have a paperweight now. RAM is new too. and passes memtest.
But no, ms sw could not sh0rt or break a mobo they tell us.

Entered troubleshooting and tried to uninstall the windows latest update, but it said it encountering trouble and cannot do it. Yeah I really wonder what trouble it encounter when the biggest trouble here is itself!

There is plenty of recovery apps but you would have to delete windows temporarily and download linux instead for being able to run the data recovery program.
Pssit windows have to be deleted from the drive it can create boot issue if you slap a iso build on a ssd that already have you windows.
Re-download windows and you should be good

Scheduled an update, next day no signal on my screen, tried everything, I mean everything. At first after restarting the pc a million times it would load me into windows but eventually it would freeze. Or it would tell me updating and then freeze. After a couple hours restarting I guess it finished. I was able to get into windows and immediately went to uninstall the latest updates. It had a heart attack when it had to restart after the uninstall. Now I could barely get to bios without it freezing. Until eventually, it just stopped working all together. Pc turns on no signal to monitor at all. Even after a million restarts, nothing. Microsoft owes me a new motherboard, SSD, and new copy of windows 11.

It booted into windows after the firmware update, showed the battery at 8% when it had been plugged in all day, beeped to let me know it lost communication with the power adapter, then shut down. I’ve checked with thermal cam, meter, scope, etc. It’s showing 20v on the adapter center PIN but nothing flowing past that. Tried an overnight with battery disco’d. Still nothing. Microsoft, STOP PUSHING FIRMWARE!!! It’s stupid and risky. Also, who do I have council call to take care of the repair bill? No, I’m not kidding. I’m just anticipating Acer, Insyde, and Microsoft are all gonna look like the pointing Spiderman meme when I try to go to any of them to get it fixed.

I dont think a drive issue can kill a motherboard without updating the kernel.Its the end of the suport ok the c:drive is not recognized but one of my buddies had that issue and thought is ssd died all over again he just reinstalled windows and everything was fine.

UncleDuck 0 Reputation points2026-04-28T22:11:57.1533333+00:00 Same happened to me end of last year... after the forced update to win11, nothing but issues on an Gygabyte AUROS XTREME X570 w/ AMD 5950X and 192 GB DDR4... had to replace the Mobo & CPU... then after updates earlier this year, memory problems/errors came back. Rolled back updates, got a little more stability, the 5 week max or whatever it is just turned off today as I returned from vacation, updated, and now I'm back to having a totally unstable machine. I already spent over $1000 repairing/replacing parts and everything. Now I might have to replace stuff again? Is Microsoft going to reimburse me!?
