Unable to copy e.g., webpage or .pdf, and paste into Word (Microsoft Office Home 2024 for Mac) v. 16.106.3  MacBook Pro 16" Intel 2020 OS 26.3.1  Word 16.106.3

First occurred after pasting multiple web pages into Word approximately 1 month ago.  The first occurred just about a month or so ago, the second today. The first (~2.10.26).  When trying to paste, nothing but blank page with small clipboard icon.  Immediately checked clipboard - empty and able to copy/paste to other apps.  Clicking on icon did display 3 options:  Keep source formatting, Match destination formatting, Keep text only. First two did nothing, third may somehow have triggered Text Edit (can't recall precisely) but gave up and used Pages, which has its own problems.  Before switching, I had also tried closing/reopening Word, shutting down/restarting, etc., without success.  Also tried the next day - same.

After a disasterous several days with Pages, I tried Word again.  Perfectly fine, no issue.

Over the last two days, I pasted multiple pdf''s into Word, one at a time. Some were a page or two, others probably closer to 7-10 pages. All worked without incident.  I then attempted to paste what, according to Word, would have been my 8th document and - nothing.  Back to small icon with options above, etc.

This time, however, the third option seemed to work.  It first opened created a document in Text Edit, but on the second try (or maybe I pasted from Text Edit) the paste completed correctly.

Hoping to learn what's causing this, and to find a permanent fix.  This seems to occur randomly, following a volume of pastes to Word, and there is no way to know when, how, or if it will work correctly again.  Thanks.
