Text is set at the smallest size but looks huge on the mirror screen. How can it be reduced?

In Windows 10, Microsoft removed many of the previously available text adjustment settings, there is only that one text size setting available in the Settings app.

The only other options available are to right click your Desktop and select Display Settings.

Then, either reduce the Scale percentage (if it is not already at 100%) or increase the resolution (if available on your screen), however, these settings will adjust the size of everything on your screen, not just the text.

On a mirrored (duplicate) display, text size is controlled by Windows scaling and resolution. To make text appear smaller on the mirror screen, adjust these on the PC that is driving both displays.

Try these steps on the Windows 10 PC:

Change display scale (makes text and apps smaller)
1. Right‑click the Start button and select Settings.
2. Go to System > Display.
3. Under Scale and layout, choose a smaller value (for example, change from 150% down to 125% or 100%).
4. Sign out and back in if prompted.
Adjust text size only (if available)
1. Select the Start button, then Settings > Ease of Access > Display.
2. Under Make text bigger, move the slider to the left to reduce text size, then select Apply.
Change screen resolution (last resort) Lower resolution makes items larger; higher resolution makes them smaller. If the mirror screen is showing everything too large even at minimum text size, check that the PC is using the monitor’s recommended (native) resolution:
1. Right‑click the desktop and choose Display settings.
2. Under Display resolution, select the option marked (Recommended) for the mirrored display.

If the mirror screen is a TV or projector with a much lower resolution than the PC monitor, mirroring will often make things look large on that device. In that case, using Extend instead of Duplicate and opening apps on the higher‑resolution screen can help keep text smaller and sharper.
