I am trying to use Clipchamp and yesterday it tells me I need more storage space. I freed up space and purchased more storage space as well. Today it has that I need more storage space again to use the program. What can I do to resolve this problem.

Clipchamp needs enough free local disk space for temporary project files and also enough free cloud storage (OneDrive) if projects are backed up there. Both must be checked and freed, not just one.

    Take these steps:

    1. Check free space on the computer
      • Ensure there is more free space on the internal drive than the total size of the media files used in the project.
      • If space is low, delete or move unneeded files, then try Clipchamp again.
      • Clipchamp stores large temporary files during editing and exporting; if the drive is nearly full, projects may not load or export correctly.
    2. Manage Clipchamp temporary files
      • In Clipchamp (personal accounts), go to the homepage → Settings → Storage (or open https://app.clipchamp.com/account/storage as described in the documentation).
      • On the Local storage page:
        • Check how much disk space Clipchamp is using.
        • Optionally set a storage limit.
        • Delete temp files to free space.
      • Before deleting temp files, make sure copies of your source media exist outside Clipchamp or that content backup is enabled; otherwise projects may later ask to locate missing files.
    3. Check OneDrive storage (cloud)
      • Clipchamp now saves projects to OneDrive by default for personal and premium accounts.
      • On the Clipchamp homepage, check the storage indicator to see how much OneDrive space is left.
      • If OneDrive is close to full even after purchasing more storage, remove or move large, unneeded files from OneDrive to free space.
      • You can choose which projects to back up to OneDrive; backing up fewer projects reduces cloud usage.
    4. Archive projects locally if OneDrive is full
      • If you do not want to use more OneDrive space, archive older Clipchamp projects to the local disk instead of backing them up to OneDrive.
      • Note: to edit archived projects again in the future, they must be uploaded to OneDrive.
    5. Ensure hardware and disk meet requirements
      • Use a 64‑bit computer with at least 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended) and a recent graphics card.
      • Confirm that the internal drive has more free space than the total size of the video files in the project; otherwise Clipchamp may show storage errors, fail to load projects, or fail to export.

If the issue persists after freeing local disk space, clearing Clipchamp temp storage, and confirming sufficient OneDrive space, try:

    • Closing other apps and browser tabs to free memory.
    • Opening the project on a different computer with more RAM, disk space, and newer hardware.
