To get the student discount on the AZ-900 exam, student status must be correctly set and verified in the Microsoft Learn profile before starting registration with Pearson VUE. If this is not done, Pearson will only show the commercial price.

Follow these steps:

1. Identify as a student in the certification profile
   1. Sign in to the Microsoft Learn profile.
   2. Go to the Interest Survey: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/users/me/settings/interests
   3. Select Career Paths.
   4. Select Student.
   5. Complete the rest of the survey and select Finished.
   This flags the account as a student so academic pricing can be applied where available.
2. Verify academic status The student discount requires academic verification and is only available in most countries/regions (except India and China). Once identified as a student and verified, the student discount is applied automatically when registering for an exam.
3. Register for AZ-900 with discount
   1. From the AZ-900 exam page, select Schedule exam.
   2. Sign in with the same Microsoft Learn account that was set to Student and verified.
   3. In the Transfer to Pearson VUE dialog, enter address and contact information and continue to Pearson VUE.
