I had my personal gmail account connected and it was not updating the emails in outlook, so i deleted it. Now when I try to add the account again, it auto populates and tries to connect on its own. Keeps giving me an error again and again. There is no place for me to put a password that I've now changed.

Classic Outlook is likely reusing cached Google credentials and/or missing the correct Gmail consent, so the account keeps failing to add and never prompts for the new password.

    Use these steps in order:

    1. Remove old Microsoft apps & services access in Google
      1. Close Outlook.
      2. Sign in to the Gmail account in a browser at google.com.
      3. Select the profile picture > Manage your Google Account.
      4. In the left menu, select Security.
      5. Scroll to Your connections to third-party apps & services and select Microsoft apps & services.
      6. Under Access you've given to Microsoft apps & services, select it and then choose Remove all access.
      7. Confirm with Confirm.
    2. Delete cached Google IMAP credentials from Windows Credential Manager
      1. From the Windows Start menu, search for Credential Manager and open it (in Windows 10 this may be under Control Panel > Credential Manager).
      2. Select Windows Credentials.
      3. Under Generic Credentials, find entries starting with MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2.
      4. Expand each and hover over the name until the full name shows including tp_google_imap_Oauth2. These are the Gmail credentials.
      5. Select Remove for each credential that includes MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2 with tp_google_imap_Oauth2. There are two per Gmail account; remove both for the affected account.
    3. Add the Gmail account back in classic Outlook and complete browser sign-in
      1. Open classic Outlook.
      2. Go to File > Add Account.
      3. Enter the Gmail address and continue so Outlook opens a browser sign-in.
      4. During the Google sign-in, when prompted to allow access, ensure the checkbox is selected for: Microsoft apps & services can access: “Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail.”
      5. Complete the sign-in. Outlook should now finish adding the account and start syncing.

If Outlook is on Current Channel Version 2412 Build 18324.20168 or later and shows an error with a Retry link when adding Gmail, select Retry to repeat the browser sign-in and this time ensure the Gmail consent checkbox above is selected.

If automatic setup still fails and you know the email and password are correct, the Gmail account may require an app password instead of the normal password. In that case, generate an app password in Google and, when Outlook prompts for a password, enter the 16‑character app password (without spaces) instead of the normal Gmail password.
