I cannot resubscribe to Xbox Game Pass Essential after my credit card expired and my past subscription was canceled. I already deleted my old credit card info and added my new card to my payment options, and it still will not let my Resubscribe or subscribe new through other avenues. When I click on the Game Pass package (no matter what option I choose, Essentials, Premium, Ultimate, it says "not available" and I am unable to process anything. I need help asap, been trying to fix this for 4 days now.

Based on the described behavior, the most likely causes are either a past-due or blocked billing status on the Microsoft account, or a general Microsoft Store buying issue that’s preventing new subscriptions from being created.

Work through these steps in order:

    1. Verify there is no past-due subscription
      1. Go to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the same Microsoft account used for Xbox.
      2. Look for any Xbox Game Pass or other Microsoft subscriptions marked as past due.
      3. If any are past due, select Pay now and follow the steps in Pay for a past-due Microsoft subscription to clear the balance using the new card.
      4. After the past-due balance is cleared, try subscribing to Game Pass again.
    2. Confirm payment options are valid and active
      1. Go to the Payment options page at https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments.
      2. Make sure the new card is listed, not expired, and that the name, address, and CVV match exactly what the bank has on file. Incorrect or incomplete card info can cause the card to be declined or blocked for new purchases.
      3. If the card was recently updated, remove and re-add it to ensure the details are fully refreshed.
    3. Check for general Microsoft Store buying issues
      1. Follow the guidance in Troubleshoot buying issues with Microsoft Store:
        • Confirm the credit card is up to date on the Payment options page.
        • Confirm there are no overdue subscription payments on the Services page.
        • Make sure the Microsoft account is not temporarily suspended.
        • If using Xbox, check that the Xbox account is not suspended.
        • Ensure antivirus or browser settings are not blocking pop‑ups or payment confirmation windows.
    4. If card is being declined or not accepted If the card itself is being rejected when trying to subscribe (even if it works elsewhere):
      1. Check that the card type and country/region are supported as described in Troubleshoot a declined card (for example, virtual or prepaid cards are not accepted, and some regions only support certain card types).
      2. Contact the bank to confirm the card is active and allowed for online and international transactions.
    5. If still unable to subscribe If there are no past-due items, the account is in good standing, and the card is valid but Game Pass still shows “not available” and blocks checkout, direct assistance from Microsoft Support is required because account-level or regional restrictions cannot be seen or changed from the community side. Use the Get Help / Contact support flow for billing/subscription issues (as recommended in similar billing cases in the context) so the billing team can review the account and correct any hidden blocks or errors.
