Hi,

I have broken my phone and I'm trying to set up my new phone with my live.co.uk account. It keeps saying its sending me an email to ******@live.co.uk, but i never receive it... Help...

Is my password for my Microsoft account the same as my live.co.uk account?

If not, how can i change it and receive the email you say your sending to help me?

Many thanks

Tony Collis

A @live.co.uk email address is a Microsoft account. The password used to sign in to Outlook/Hotmail with that address is the same Microsoft account password used for other Microsoft services.

If the password is not working or the verification email is not arriving, use the official Microsoft account recovery and password tools instead of waiting for that email from the phone setup:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account sign-in help:
    2. Enter the full ******@live.co.uk address and follow the prompts.
    3. Choose a verification method you can access (alternate email, phone, etc.). If the code is not arriving:
      • Confirm the address/phone is typed correctly.
      • Make sure the correct domain is used (live.co.uk vs live.com, etc.).
    4. After verifying identity, set a new password for the Microsoft account. This new password is what will be used on the new phone.

If already know the current password and just want to change it:

    1. Sign in at https://account.microsoft.com (if possible).
    2. Go to Security and select Change Password or use the direct link: Change Password.
    3. Enter and save the new password.

If sign-in still fails or the account cannot be found, use the guided support tools:

Once the password is successfully reset or changed, use that same Microsoft account password when adding the @live.co.uk account on the new phone.
