A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
The Microsoft 365 trial version does not restrict basic features such as copying and pasting. A Word document in a trial can be copied, moved, and emailed just like in a fully licensed version.
To copy and send the document by email, use one of these methods:
- Copy/move the file in File Explorer
- Close the document in Word.
- Open File Explorer and browse to the folder containing the .docx file.
- Right-click the file and choose Copy, then go to the target folder (for example, Desktop or another folder), right-click, and choose Paste.
- In the email app (such as Outlook), use Attach file and browse to the copied file.
- Send directly from Word (requires Outlook as default mail app)
- In Word, open the document.
- Select File > Share.
- Choose Attach a copy instead and then select to attach the file to an email.
- Enter recipient and send from Outlook.
If the document “does not seem to copy,” check:
- That the file is not open in a location where there are permission restrictions (for example, a read-only network location).
- That copy/paste works for other items (text, another file) to confirm the system clipboard is working.
Copy/paste of content inside Word is also fully available in the trial. Use Ctrl+C to copy selected text or objects and Ctrl+V to paste, or use the Home > Copy/Paste commands and the Office Clipboard.
