    Hi Makena,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that the cursor is not visible at all on your Lenovo laptop, and the issue has continued for weeks even after restarting the device.

Please make sure you already tried the Q&A Assist steps. In addition, please try the following.

Before proceeding, I’d like to narrow this down a bit:

1, Are you currently using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

2, When you connect an external USB mouse, does the cursor appear on the screen?

In the meantime, you can try these steps:

1, Make sure the mouse pointer is not hidden by system settings

    • Open Settings
    • Go to Accessibility
    • Select Mouse pointer and touch
    • Increase the pointer size and change the pointer color to a bright color

2, Check if the Human Interface Device service is running

    • Press Windows key + R
    • Type services.msc and press Enter
    • Locate Human Interface Device Service
    • Make sure the status is Running and the startup type is set to Automatic

    3, Reinstall the touchpad device

    • Right‑click Start and open Device Manager
    • Expand Mice and other pointing devices and Human Interface Devices
    • Right‑click the touchpad or HID‑compliant device and choose Uninstall device
    • Restart the laptop and allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically

4, Disable Tablet mode related behavior

    • Open Settings
    • Go to System
    • Select Tablet
    • Turn off tablet‑optimized features if enabled

5, Test the cursor in Safe Mode

    • Press Windows key + R
    • Type msconfig and press Enter
    • Open the Boot tab and enable Safe boot
    • Restart and check if the cursor appears

6, Create a new local user profile for testing

    • Open Settings
    • Go to Accounts
    • Select Other users
    • Add a new local user and sign in to check if the cursor appears there

Hi! Let me help you with this issue.

Have you tried a hard reset?

    Shut down the laptop completely

Click Start → Power → Shut down

Make sure it’s fully off (no lights, no fan)

    Unplug everything

    Remove the charger

Disconnect USB devices, mouse, keyboard, headset, HDMI, etc.

    Drain residual power

Press and hold the Power button for 20–30 seconds

    Don’t release it early

    Reconnect power

Plug only the charger back in (nothing else)

    Turn the laptop on

    Press the Power button normally

If your cursor is not showing up on your Lenovo laptop, it could be due to several reasons. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the Touchpad Settings: Sometimes, the touchpad may be disabled. You can usually enable it by pressing the function key (often labeled with a touchpad icon) along with the Fn key.
    2. Update Drivers: Ensure that your touchpad drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager in Windows. Look for "Mice and other pointing devices" and update the driver for your touchpad.
    3. External Mouse: If you have an external mouse connected, try disconnecting it to see if the touchpad cursor reappears.
    4. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is fully updated, as updates can fix bugs that may be causing the issue.
    5. Registry Settings: In some cases, the mouse cursor can be suppressed due to registry settings. If you are comfortable making changes to the registry, you can check the following key:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
      • Look for the value EnableCursorSuppression and ensure it is set to 0 (disabled).

If none of these steps work, it may be a hardware issue, and you might need to consult Lenovo support for further assistance.
