Hi Makena,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that the cursor is not visible at all on your Lenovo laptop, and the issue has continued for weeks even after restarting the device.
Please make sure you already tried the Q&A Assist steps. In addition, please try the following.
Before proceeding, I’d like to narrow this down a bit:
1, Are you currently using Windows 10 or Windows 11?
2, When you connect an external USB mouse, does the cursor appear on the screen?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
1, Make sure the mouse pointer is not hidden by system settings
- Open Settings
- Go to Accessibility
- Select Mouse pointer and touch
- Increase the pointer size and change the pointer color to a bright color
2, Check if the Human Interface Device service is running
- Press Windows key + R
- Type
services.mscand press Enter - Locate Human Interface Device Service
- Make sure the status is Running and the startup type is set to Automatic
3, Reinstall the touchpad device
- Right‑click Start and open Device Manager
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices and Human Interface Devices
- Right‑click the touchpad or HID‑compliant device and choose Uninstall device
- Restart the laptop and allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically
4, Disable Tablet mode related behavior
- Open Settings
- Go to System
- Select Tablet
- Turn off tablet‑optimized features if enabled
5, Test the cursor in Safe Mode
- Press Windows key + R
- Type
msconfigand press Enter - Open the Boot tab and enable Safe boot
- Restart and check if the cursor appears
6, Create a new local user profile for testing
- Open Settings
- Go to Accounts
- Select Other users
- Add a new local user and sign in to check if the cursor appears there
