if you get the error message "AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity." please take a look here:
Tenant inaccessible due to inactivity
Administrators can request a tenant to be reactivated within 20 days of the tenant entering an inactive state. Tenants that remain in this state for longer than 20 days are deleted.
If you need to reactivate your tenant:
- The tenant administrator can reach out to Microsoft, see the global support phone numbers.
- Refrain from submitting another assistance request while your existing case is in process and until you receive a response with a decision on this case.
You can also try to sign in using the Tenant Id in the Azure Portal URL: https://portal.azure.com/<TenantId>
Instead of the Tenant Id login with the Tenant Name works as well: https://portal.azure.com/<yourTenantName>.onmicrosoft.com
If nothing works so far you can try this solution:
- Login to https://entra.microsoft.com/
- Go to Entra ID -> Overview, and click on Manage tenants
- Create a new Tenant and get its Domain name
- Login back to Azure portal and add the new Tenant domain name (or Tenant Organisation ID), like this: https://portal.azure.com/xxx.onmicrosoft.com
- From there you can open a ticket (if your are not a free user), or at least work with your new tenant.

2026-02-16T18:37:59.29+00:00 Hello John Morales,
The error message you are seeing indicates that your tenant has been inactive for more than 200 days after the billing cycle, which triggered Microsoft's process to remove inactive tenants. At this stage, the OMS commerce system places a login block AADSTS5000225, Twenty days after this block is applied, the tenant is permanently deleted.
To restore access, the tenant must have been blocked for less than 20 days. After 30 days, the tenant is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
We can reactivate your tenant only if it has been blocked for less than 20 days, please share the requested details in private message so that we can reactivate your account.
Once we have the requested details, we can proceed with your account reactivation

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Based on your response, it seems my tenant may no longer be recoverable. To clarify, my main goal is to log in to my current email as an Azure account and, if necessary, create a new tenant. Could you confirm if this is possible with my existing email address? If so, please let me know the steps I need to take.
Looking forward to your guidance.
Best regards,John Morales

2026-02-16T19:44:02.2166667+00:00 John Morales Yes ,you can continue using your existing email address to sign in and create a new Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) tenant, even if the previous tenant is no longer recoverable due to inactivity (AADSTS5000225).
Next steps
- Go to https://portal.azure.com
- Sign in with your current email address.
- When prompted, choose Create a new tenant.
- Complete the tenant creation process and assign yourself Global Administrator.
Important notes
- The old tenant cannot be restored once it is permanently deleted.
- Any subscriptions, users, or resources from the old tenant are not recoverable.
- The email identity itself is not blocked and can be reused without issue.
If you encounter any errors while signing in or creating the new tenant, please share the exact error message and correlation ID so we can assist further.
