    Dear @Bryan Reed,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I’m truly sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with Outlook crashing. As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or investigate backend systems to resolve this for you. However, my role here is limited to providing general guidance and troubleshooting steps that you can apply. I will do my best to guide you toward a resolution.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide the following details:

    • Are you using New Outlook or Classic Outlook?
    • Is this Outlook for Windows, Mac, or web?
    • What version of Windows or macOS are you using?
    • When does Outlook crash (on startup, when sending email, opening attachments, etc.)?
    • Do you receive any error messages? If so, please share the exact wording.

In the meantime, please try the following steps:

    1.Launch in Safe Mode

Testing in Safe Mode determines if a third-party add-in is the culprit.

    • Press Windows Key + R, type outlook /safe, and hit Enter.

    • If Outlook runs normally, one of your add-ins is causing the crash.
    • In Classic Outlook, go to File > Options > Add-ins, select COM Add-ins, and click Go. Uncheck all items and restart normally, then enable them one by one to find the faulty one.

    2.Perform an Repair

If core application files are corrupted, the Office repair tool can rebuild them.

    1. Right-click the Start button and select Installed Apps.

    1. Find Outlook in the list.
    2. Click the three dots (...) and select Advanced options
    3. Scroll down to the Reset section and choose Repair or Reset.

    3.Scan Your Data Files (PST/OST)

Corruption in the local email database is a frequent source of instability.

    • Locate the SCANPST.EXE tool on your computer (usually found in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16).
    • Run the tool and browse to your Outlook data file.
    • Follow the prompts to scan and repair any detected errors.

This process will automatically fix structural issues within your local mailbox file.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I look forward to your reply.
