My Microsoft account was compromised through a Discord phishing scam. I entered a Microsoft security code into what I now realise was a fake verification page. Immediately after, I received emails saying my password was changed and a passkey was removed. I believe the primary sign-in alias was changed because my Gmail now says the account does not exist. This account is linked to my Xbox profile with purchase history and subscriptions. I need help recovering it.

I have logged in to a different microsoft account just to write this and every avenue ive looked at to recover my account as i need to sign-in, which i cannot do as due to the scam my email and passwrord has been removed. I just need to speak to an actual person as all the AI bots just tell me to sign in.

To recover your Microsoft account that has been compromised, follow these steps:

    1. Use the Account Recovery Form: Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and fill out the recovery form. Provide as much information as possible about your account and any previous passwords you may have used.
    2. Check Your Recovery Options: If you had set up recovery options (like a phone number or alternate email), check those for any recovery codes or instructions sent by Microsoft.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you are unable to sign in, try reaching out to Microsoft Support directly. You can do this by visiting the Microsoft support page and selecting the option for account recovery. Look for a way to speak with a support representative who can assist you in recovering your account.
    4. Secure Your Other Accounts: While you are recovering your Microsoft account, ensure that your other accounts (like your Gmail) are secure. Change passwords and enable two-factor authentication where possible.
    5. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Once you regain access to your account, consider enabling MFA to add an extra layer of security against future compromises.

If you are still having trouble, you may need to provide proof of identity to Microsoft to regain access to your account.
