Custom domain is already verified in another Microsoft Entra tenant that is no longer accessible

Hello Microsoft team,

We are trying to verify the custom domain in our Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) tenant, but the verification fails because this domain appears to be already verified in another Entra tenant.

That tenant belongs to our organization but is no longer accessible.

Important details:

  • We are the legal owners of the domain

We have full DNS and registrar access

We can add and modify TXT / MX records without any issue

The verification TXT record provided by Entra is correctly configured, but verification still fails due to the domain being attached to another tenant

Please advise on the next steps to resolve this issue.

Hello HEORHY OKAU

The issue relates to an unable to verify custom domain name as it is verified in different directory in Azure.

To resolve this, we have engaged our Data Protection team through a support ticket. They will reach out to you via email or phone to help restore access to the tenant and assist in resolving the issue.
