I am being blocked from downloading Mobile Device Management software, despite being the Global Administrator.

When I attempt to download "Prey" Mobile Device Management software I.get a windows popup window that requests an Administrator login. Despite inputing my global Admin credential I received the following message: "The requested operation requires elevation." Please advise.

Global Admin ≠ local Windows admin and thus this error occurs because Microsoft Entra/Global Administrator rights do not grant local administrator elevation on the device; the fix is to ensure the account is explicitly added to the local Administrators group (or Device Administrators for Entra‑joined devices), otherwise UAC will block installers like MDM agents.
