My one note is full of handwritting and sketches mixed with typed text. When the same one note is open on my colleague computer the typed text changed position and all the handwrting notes are misplaced.

What can we do to avoid that?

This happens because ink (handwriting) and text containers are rendered differently across platforms and screen sizes. Since OneNote does not lock ink and text together, variations between Windows, Mac, and iPad clients can cause content to move.

To reduce or avoid misalignment:

-Use the same OneNote version across devices. Layout differences often occur when pages are opened in different clients.

-Use OneNote for the web to check whether misalignment comes from the client or the stored page. If the misplacement appears online, manually reposition the ink there.

-Keep ink and text separate. OneNote treats ink as absolute‑position objects, so even small text shifts can make handwriting look displaced. Placing typed text and ink in distinct areas helps minimize this.
