Why won’t GroupMe let me into my phone number

I’m trying to create an account on GroupMe and everything is working apart from my mobile number. I’m entering it correctly but it keeps popping up saying phone number does not exist or phone number invalid.

    Here are the unsupported phone numbers on GroupMe,

    1. Most VoIP numbers
    2. Landlines
    3. Toll-free numbers
    4. Premium-rate numbers
    5. Universal access numbers (UAN)

    During account setup, make sure you’re using the correct country code and that there are no dashes in the phone number. Also, ensure the device you’re trying to register can send and receive SMS verification codes normally.
