How to restore my access to Azure portal using SMS messages?

Dear Microsoft and Community people,
I have created a fee Azure account for learning many years ago but I cannot login for quite while.
When I am trying to login Azure portal asks me for the second authentication.
I can only accept SMS text for the further identification.
But I am getting an error message: "We ran into a problem. Please try again."
I have the same UK phone number in the profile of my Microsoft account.

kagiyama yutaka 5,490 Reputation points2026-02-15T20:35:03.63+00:00 I think that sms loop means the tenant’s mfa chain is half‑dead… happens on old free tenants a lot.
only way I’ve ever brought these back is having the global admin open a support case from the M365 admin portal and they re‑activate the tenant and rebuild the mfa on their side.
