I can't get out of this loop I'm stuck in. I can't sign in to my account without having a code, which has to come through my phone, which I'm trying to sign in to on my phone. I've tried using a code, but that doesn't work too, considering I'm not logged in. I'm about to lose my shit to be honest. I just want to do my work for college but I can't because some retard at a billion dollar company can't properly design an app.

    Hello @attila koszti,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

I understand that this issue is important and directly affects your work or studies. So, please follow my answer below, as I have helped many users in similar situations and this approach has worked successfully.

Since this is a school/university account, the ability to recover MFA is managed by your organization’s IT department. Microsoft cannot directly intervene in organizational accounts.

So, you need to contact your Helpdesk or IT team and request them to:

Revoke or reset your MFA settings in the Microsoft Entra Admin Center (remove the current authentication methods). 사용자의 이미지

For step-by-step details, refer to the official Microsoft documentation: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID |…

Once your IT administrator resets your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings, the next time you sign in to your organization’s resources, you will be prompted to set up new security verification methods, such as re‑registering Microsoft Authenticator or adding a phone number as a backup option.

I understand that this situation can be a bit complicated to contact your school’s IT department, but only your school's IT department can access the backend settings for your Microsoft 365 account.

Find Your Microsoft 365 Admin: If you’re unsure who the Global Admin is within your school, you can find guidance on locating them here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support User's image

Although I am a forum moderator and do not have access to your backend systems to help you directly, I have provided a detailed guide above that you can share with your school’s IT department.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with the Microsoft Authenticator app, where you're unable to access your account due to the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) loop. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you're stuck in a loop and unable to access your account, the best course of action is to contact Microsoft support directly. Explain your situation and request assistance with resetting your MFA settings. You may need to provide details about your account to verify your identity.
    2. Use a Backup Method: If you have set up any backup authentication methods (like a phone number or email), try using those to receive a verification code instead of relying solely on the Authenticator app.
    3. Create a Temporary Account: If you're unable to reach support, consider creating a trial Microsoft 365 tenant. This will allow you to access the Admin Center and submit a support ticket requesting to speak with the Data Protection team regarding your original account.
    4. Follow IVR Prompts Carefully: When calling support, follow the prompts carefully to ensure you reach the right department. You may need to specify that you are the sole administrator of your account and need urgent assistance.

These steps should help you regain access to your account and resolve the MFA loop issue you're facing.
