Copilot 365 typing errors on a macbook pro

I am experiencing a regular problem with my Copilot apps, especially Outlook on my macbook pro running Tahoe 26.2. as OS (13" 2020 M1, 8GB RAM)
The keys I type do not reproduce in the correct order on the screen or they reproduce later in my typing sequence. It is as though copilot is trying to be too clever in making suggestions for words when they are not needed.
Is this a known behaviour?
Is this due to a setting which can be switched off?
Is this a bug?
Any insight would be very helpful as currently, it is very difficult to type smoothly without having to constantly go back and correct what appears on the screen, relative to which keys I have typed.
