    Hello Zaid, thanks for posting this in the community. As far as I know, GroupMe only supports SMS verification within the United States. Because of this limitation, any attempt to register or verify using a non‑US phone number almost always fails and results in errors such as “Unexpected error, please try again.”

    As an alternative, you can sign in using your Microsoft account instead of your phone number. Open the GroupMe app, tap Sign in, choose “Sign in with Microsoft,” enter your Microsoft account email and password, and when the app asks for a phone number, simply skip that step. This method allows you to access and use GroupMe normally even outside the US. sign in to GroupMe with my Microsoft Account
