How to apply $1000 credit with MCPP to Azure billing?

We have been a Microsoft partner for years and the monthly $100 credit was automatically applied to our Azure backup fees. Now we are an MCPP partner and the charges for Azure back ups are being billed to our payment credit card and not against the $1000 credit for being a cloud partner. I am not able to find any instructions or support on this. Maybe someone has already been through this and knows the required steps.
