Hi Browning
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum and sharing your experience.
I understand the need to capture photos on your personal iPhone and have them appear in your business OneDrive automatically, especially when you work across iPhone, MacBook and Lenovo devices.
At the moment, there is no native or fully automated way to sync data directly from iCloud Photos to OneDrive for Business. Apple does not provide a background integration that pushes new photos from iCloud into OneDrive without user interaction.
However, you can achieve the automation you need by configuring the OneDrive app on your iPhone.
To handle the photos you take daily as a salesman, the simplest method is to use the Camera Backup feature within the OneDrive iOS app. This will automatically upload all existing photos from the iPhone’s local Photos library as well as every new photo you take going forward. This process does not transfer data from iCloud Photos into OneDrive. Instead, it creates a second copy of the images inside your OneDrive for Business account.
- Open the OneDrive app on your iPhone and tap your account image at the top.
- Navigate to Settings > Camera Backup.

Note: You can only upload your camera roll to one account at a time, so please ensure you are signed in with and have selected your Work/Business account, not your personal one.
Once enabled, any photo you take will automatically appear in your company drive. Note that this is a one-way backup, not a two-way sync. This means if you delete a photo from your iPhone to save space, the copy in OneDrive remains safe. It also means your personal iCloud Photos remains active as a parallel copy, ensuring your personal library stays intact on your Apple devices.
Regarding the 22GB of data already in your iCloud: while the OneDrive app can upload existing photos if left running in the background, this can take a significant amount of time for a library that size.
For the initial transfer, I recommend a one-time manual process using your MacBook. You can download the photos from iCloud to your Mac and then drag-and-drop them into your OneDrive for Business folder. This is generally much faster and more reliable for large amounts of data. Once that initial batch is moved, you can rely on the mobile app to handle all future photos automatically.
