This has been ongoing for days now and seems to be a global issue. To say the least - this happening at a year-end and not being attended to and resolved immediately with the highest criticality is very unproffessional, I'd even call it arrogant on Microsoft's side. Go fix - now!

This is really making life difficult - has anyone tried "Wisesheets" ?? Would it be working now while Microsoft quotes are not working? Answering my own question 24 hours later: Wisesheets does work and I'm using it temporarily as Microsoft quotes now down for 3 days. I thought MS would be much more reliable - very disappointing. And communications from MS have been miserable.

This is now day 3 of Stock Prices not refreshing in Excel 365. I did chat with a representative through the Chat option, and he stated that this is a known issue and they did not have any information on when it would be fixed.

There appears as if Microsoft is not actually answering the question of when or if the Stock servers will ever be working properly again. This list of questions and comments only seem to be a means to allow Microsoft users a place to post things that may not ever be answered or fixed. Is there another means for users to talk to a human using a chat box or an actual phone?

I'm still having the same issue for a number of days. Must be a major Bo Bo if it has taken this long to fix. I've wasted a lot of time trying to fix my computer because I thought the problem was local machine.

Yep - I too have wasted a lot of time on this.

MS Quotes still not working after 4 days. My workaround has been to install StockConnector and Wisesheets and set up my spreadsheets to select among MS, StockConnect, and Wisesheets to keep my spreadsheets up to date.

So far, so good.

Hi, I understand how inconvenient it feels when the stock prices just won’t update.

The reason this happens is that Excel pulls stock data from Microsoft’s online service, and right now there’s a temporary issue on their servers, so the refresh isn’t working.

While they fix it, you can try closing Excel, restarting your computer, and then opening the file again to use the Refresh All option under the Data tab.

Make sure your internet connection is stable and that you’re signed in with your Microsoft account.

If it still doesn’t update, it’s most likely the outage and not something wrong on your end.

Just to check, are you using Excel on Windows or Mac, and does this happen for all tickers or only certain ones?

It's a service outage at the source. Twiddling with Excel or network settings on your local machine won't fix it, and you may break something else. (Commenting as a user, not speaking for Microsoft. I have no relationship with this service, but I have reported internally.)

I understand the response from Aaron, an independent advisor; however, this is not an issue that requires rebooting your computer, as that would be on that individual's computer. There are times when an update could cause a refresh issue, and the fix that works the majority of the time is to log out of your account, close excel, open excel and log back in, then refresh data. Over the years i can count on my hands how many times I have had to do them (Not Many Times). Their servers that use a third party are at the root of the issue, as said by Microsoft advisors in the past couple of days. Hopefully, this will be resolved as Excel is useless for me as I track many stocks and refuse to manually add the prices one at a time, as it would be a never-ending process.

Day 03 and counting ! no resolution yet. the MS chat (not sure whether it was a human or bot) mentioned the same thing thats posted in earlier comments "we have received and acknowledged the issue and our engineers are working to fix it!" upon asking an expected time / day of completion the bot/ human was unable to provide any tangible timeline except the standard "asap".

Hope this gets resolved before the first trading monday of the year when the markets open in the east.

Update is now working, but adding fields (Add columns) from the stock name (i.e. price, 52 week high etc ) isn't. Just created a new sheet with a couple of stock names to test, I can't add these additional fields...... something that was working well
