Unable to login to Azure portal, it says verify code on Authenticator or enter verification code on authenticator but i never receive notification

Hi,

I had my account working in Azure portal but offlate I am unable to sign in as it gets stuck in the page shown int he image and i don't get any notification or the code.

I am able to login tot he said account in outlook live and access my emails but it jsut doesn;t work in Azure portal.

Stuck completely, can I please get some help?

FWIW, I do get notifications for the same account in authenticator for other sign in other apps like outlook or etc, just doesn't work n Azure portal.

Please can you try clicking onto 'Use Verification code' option. Then navigate to your account and enter the code that is presented in the Authenticator app when you click onto your personal account.

Thanks @Nathan Roberts (SN) I have even tried that, but there is no verification code in authenticator app, only thing I have is One time password code, but that is not the same i suppose anyway that doesn't work as well.

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

I understand that you're having trouble logging into the Azure portal because you haven't received the code needed in the Microsoft Authenticator App to verify your MFA.

In this case, if there is another global administrator from your tenant, they can help you to reregister your MFA.

Admin has to perform below steps to reset your MFA so that you can re-register for authenticator app.

Admin has to login to Azure portal and access Microsoft Entra ID.

Once done they have to go to user's blade on the left.

Click on the user account which is unable to login to Azure portal.

Click on Authentication methods and click on “Require re-register multifactor authentication”.

Now when you try to login to Azure, it will prompt you to register for MFA again.

If you are not aware of another global administrator or you are the only global admin in your tenant, please let us know. We will guide you further.

I am not aware of any global administrator for my tenant.

Some more additional info, I am a Microsoft employee, and we i have activated Azure account linking my personal outlook account, as we do get free credits to be used.

That's where I was experimenting and now unable to sing in.

So not sure whom to contact as the tenant admin here?

I am not aware of any global administrator for my tenant.

I know this was in response to the agent above, but thought to answer it. When you create a tenant, you are added as a global admin for the tenant. What the agent was asking is if there is anyone else in your tenant that is an admin as well. This is because they will be able to reset the Authentication method through Entra.

Is there another admin on your tenant?
