Quick fix;
Right click on the "Apply" button area → Pin the panel to a different location (e.g., bottom or floating window). This gives more horizontal space.
Better fix:
Go to Tools → Options → Environment → General → search "Copilot" → Look for "Chat Panel Width" or layout settings. You might find a resize option there.
Workaround (If above doesn't work):
Use GitHub Copilot Chat in the web browser (github.com/copilot) instead of the IDE. Copy/paste your code there, get solutions, paste back. Less ideal but works.
Actual solution - Report to Microsoft
If this is a legit VS 2026 bug, go to Help → Send Feedback. Report the layout issue. Include a screenshot. This helps the team fix it.
