Can't login to Defender on Android using M365 family member account.

I'm setting up a new android phone for a family member.

I have added their microsoft account to my m365 family subscription and it says they are in the family group.

When i try to login to the defender app on their android phone it says invalid license.

Please can you tell me how i can get some support to make this work.

Although the family member is correctly added to the Microsoft 365 Family group, the Microsoft Defender app on Android sometimes fails to validate the shared license and incorrectly shows “Invalid license”.

This might be a backend/license validation issue, not something you’ve misconfigured. To troubleshoot start by confirming if the License the License is actually shared.
Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services

Open your Microsoft 365 Family subscription

Confirm the family member shows as “Sharing with” and has accepted the invite
If this is okay, then then Reinstalling Defender via the official link and clearing cached credentials resolves this issue for many users.
