Hi David,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand how frustrating repeated Phone Link disconnects can be. Based on the details you shared, please follow these steps:
1, Reset the Bluetooth + Wi‑Fi Link Layer
Phone Link depends on both:
- Wi‑Fi (primary data channel)
- Bluetooth (control channel)
To refresh both sides cleanly:
On Windows
- Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices > Remove your phone
- Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Reset network adapters (Wi‑Fi + PAN)
On Samsung
- Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Reset mobile network settings
- Toggle Nearby device scanning ON (Samsung requirement for stable Link to Windows)
2, Disable Samsung Battery Restrictions on “Link to Windows”
Open Android settings > Apps > Link to Windows > Battery > set to Unrestricted Also turn off:
- “Pause app activity if unused”
- “Adaptive battery” (optional but helpful)
3, Re‑pair Using the Modern Connection Flow
On the phone:
- Open Link to Windows > Menu > Re‑link with PC
On Windows:
- Open Phone Link > Settings > My Devices > Unlink this PC > Sign in and re‑pair
