how can i change the color of my desktop icon fonts...instead of white?

My background is a white sheet listing all my program directories.

so I cant see the labels under my icons. i need them to be green or blue so they stand out.

Please give us the option to change icon colors back. I cannot read the icon labels. I had to take off the drop shadow because it was hard to read, now if my background image changes, I cannot read the white. I am very frustrated you took the option to change the icon label color away. Not cool Microsoft developers!

So heavy handed to just remove a useful feature like this - then expect users to spend valuable time using your lugubrious workaround! Did anybody think to ask users what improvements they'd like to see and what features they valued before bunging out Windows11? No. Honestly, it's like using beta software - except we're expected to pay for this! Windows and its associated software has never been intuitive to use (unless you're the developer) now we waste more and more time trying to find workarounds for more and more complicated software. We have work to do! It really isn't on!

Hi Ronald,

Using Windows 11 we don't have settings to change the desktop icon font colors. What we can recommend is try to adjust background color and appearance.

Open Settings and choose Personalization. Select Colors scroll down and click View colors. Choose a custom accent color window will appear select color and adjust from left to right to get the color you want. Once ok with the settings please click done.

Why on earth would you remove the user's ability to change the colour of their desktop icons? The desktop wallpaper supplied by the system is mainly clouds. How am I supposed to see white labels?? And why oh why should users waste their valuable time on 'workarounds' for something that should be a standard, simple, fix?

It is becoming apparent that Windows 11 is a far inferior software program to Windows 10.
