On Android phone: How can I find WHERE a SharePoint folder or File is

Often I am sent a direct link to a file on Sharepoint and I open it on my mobile phone (Android). In many cases I need to know the location of that file. To see whether it has been stored on the right place or to find other, related documentation that is stored on the same location. Context is information!

Until now, I haven't found a way to see the path of the file on my mobile phone.
How can this be found on the mobile app of Sharepoint?
Also, it would be nice to 'go up' in the file and folder tree. At least, that would be a workaround to find the location of the file. How can this be achieved?

I've tried the 'Details' for a file. It shows e.g. Size and Created date, but not the path.
For going up in the tree, I tried the 'Back' arrow, but that brings me back to the very top of the tree, skipping all the intermediate nodes. So it does not show the direct parent of the file that I opened with a direct link.

Both seem to me very common wishes that employees in medium to large organisations would like to be able to do, especially when one works in multiple projects in parallel.

As far as I know, the SharePoint mobile app does not currently provide a way to view the full file path or navigate directly to the parent folder when opening a file from a direct link. The “Details” pane only shows basic metadata such as size and created date, and the back navigation returns to the root instead of the immediate parent folder. This is a known limitation of the mobile app design.

While this feature isn’t currently available, I do think it would be genuinely useful. Therefore, I suggest you sharing your request through the Microsoft Feedback Portal. The engineering teams actively review those submissions, the more people ask for the same feature, the higher the chance it gets prioritized and added to Teams.
