Surface Book 3 is restricted to organisation or educational

I have purchased a used Surface Book 3 but want to use my personal account with it, however it is locked sign-in via a business or educational address, and I can get past that. I have tried reloading from scratch via the media creation tool, but am still stuck at the sign-in.

The solution for me;

I contacted the IT reseller, who in turn contacted the organisation which disposed of the Surface Book. The serial number was still in their Intune dashboard, so was removed.
The Surface Book still asked for a work/school account. At the screen where this was being asked, I pressed Shift-F10 (you might need FN as well), to call up a command window.
The I entered 'start ms-cxh:localonly'. The surface book then allowed me to set up a local admin account.
From there I ran updates for Windows, which also updated various firmware items.
After the updates and a reboot I could then add my personal account, and all is well.

If the Surface was provisioned in Intune/Azure by a company or school, only they can release it. You should contact the seller or the organization and have them deprovision the SB3. If they cannot do this, return to seller for a refund. Microsoft Support cannot do this for you, it has to be done by the business or school.

If the seller won't take it back, you'd have to take it up with your bank or credit card company.

Thanks Barb. I think this is where it is heading, I do have a service request logged with MS too, but am expecting the same response.
