I have accidently created a duplicate Microsoft account. The one I duplicated here recently is actually the one I'd like to use. However, the old account has my Microsoft 365 associated with it. Knowing I can't merge accounts should I cancel my Microsoft 365 on the old account and set it back up on the account the new account I'd prefer to use and delete the old account? Is there any other method you'd suggest? Note that my outlook keeps looking for the new account that does not have the 365 associated with it and says I have run out of storage space.

Hi,

You can’t merge Microsoft accounts, and subscriptions don’t transfer between accounts.

If you want everything under the new account, you’ll need to:

Cancel Microsoft 365 on the old account (or wait until renewal).

Purchase Microsoft 365 on the new account.

Migrate your data (OneDrive files and Outlook emails) from the old account to the new one.

After migration, you can delete the old account if you no longer need it.

If you’d rather avoid this process, the simplest option is to keep using the old account for Microsoft 365 and set it as the primary sign-in for Office and Outlook to stop storage warnings. I hope this helps!
