I worked out the issue with phone ink keeping messages. I noticed that for an unknown reason, most of those messages were archived. i moved them to trash, and they were removed from the PC phone link. Three remained. I could not find them on the phone, so I searched for the phone numbers. They were previously blocked messages. I moved them to trash, and deleted them from trash also. Now there are no more messages in phone link that are not on my phone.

I did a reset in the Phone Link app. I also permanently deleted all deleted messages on my iPhone.

Then unlinked and relinked my iPhone. The old messages STILL appear in Phone Link app. Am now deleting Phone Link app and will find other way to monitor iPhone messages from my pc.

Hello,

You can't erase messages directly from the Phone Link app on your PC because it is meant to reflect messages that are already on your phone. "Ghost" copies of the messages you see in Phone Link but not on your phone are probably kept in the app's local cache.

You can fix this by resetting the Phone Link app. This will delete all of its existing data and require it to sync with your phone again. On your PC, click to Settings, then programs, then Installed programs. Look for Phone Link and access its Advanced options. Click Terminate to close all the programs that are operating in the background. Then click Reset and confirm. After that, restart your computer and open Phone Link again. This will start a new sync and should get rid of those fake messages.

If the problem persists, you might have to totally unlink and relink your phone to force a thorough connection reset.

This solution doesn't work. Phone Link does not appear in the installed apps list.

The issue is that it is not a ghost message since it was Never delivered to my phone. It is ONLY delivered to my phone link. Interestingly enough, it is also delivered to my messages on my car display as well, but NEVER on my phone.

To cancel Google messages on Window’s Phone Link and Android, I did the following.

1.      On PC, Settings>Bluetooth & devices>Mobile devices

a.      Click mobile devices (your phone) off

2.      On PC, Phone Link>Settings>Devices> …

a.      Remove

3.      On phone, Messages

a.      Delete unwanted messages, if any

b.      your picture> Bin (Trash) – this contains deleted messages for 30 days but it doesn’t always work!

c.      Click on any unwanted messages in Bin (Trash) by clicking on it then delete it via (bin with a X in it) on top right hand side next to the 3 dots

4.      On PC, Settings>System>System components>Phone Lnk> …> Advanced options

a.      Phone link to off

b.      Terminate

c.      Reset

5.      On PC, Phone Link

a.      Android

b.      Scan code

c.      On phone, Accept

d.      In Phone Link, Continue

On my PC, to get rid of messages on Phone Link going forward, I delete the message in Messages, then delete the message in the Messages Bin and it no longer appears in Phone Link.

I followed all the steps from AI and spent the whole day, but still can't get rid of the ghost messages.
