Unable to verify custom domain - DNS - Godaddy

Hey, hopefully someone can assist here please...

I purchased a domain from GoDaddy which I setup in my Azure LAB. I wanted to use custom domains in Azure to avoind using the @xxxxxxxxxx.onmicrosoft.com suffix for my licensed users - which is a P1 (Business Premium).

When I create a customer domain in Azure, I save the txt record into Godaddy DNS - and wait for ~48, its fails to verify - "unable to verify domain name. Ensure you have added the record above to the registrar.....

Even though I can see the txt records have proopgated from Godaddy, so must be a Microsoft issue? Godaddy confirmed they cannot see any issues and raise it with MS support.

Its frustrating as Ive never been able to get this to work.

PS: I have followed all the MS KB articles and watched YT videos - same result eachtime.

If your custom domain has already been verified in another Entra directory. You can do this by entering your domain name in the following URL to retrieve the tenant ID where it is verified:

https://www.whatismytenantid.com/

Once you have the tenant ID, verify whether it belongs to your tenant. If the tenant ID is different and you do not own that directory, the only option is to contact the Data Protection team via a support ticket to request the removal of the domain verification from the existing Entra ID tenant. After the removal, you should be able to verify the domain in your tenant without any issues.

To involve Data Protection team via a support ticket, I need a few details from you. As this information contains Personally Identifiable Information (PII), please share the following details via private message:

Custom domain Name:

Your tenant ID:

Contact Email address:

Contact Phone Number:

Country

TimeZone

Hello, thanks for your quick response - yes, my tenant ID is differnt to the ID showing in the url link you provided.

How do i raise a support ticket with Data Protection team?

And why did Godaddy not pick this up when I purchased the domain?
