Shared one note from work email to personal email. Unable to open shared notebook in onenote app on personal laptop. Shared OneNote file will only open in browser. There is no option to open in desktop app under edit button (only shows edit or view). There is no file->info->edit in app option via file tab. NoteBook is editable, and is able to be edited in phone app, but not on my personal laptop.

    Hello,

Are you signed into the OneNote desktop app with the same work account that owns the notebook? The recent Microsoft update limits shared work notebooks opened by personal accounts, so the Open in App option only appears when you use the work account on the desktop app. Personal accounts open these shared work notebooks only in the browser or mobile app.

If you need desktop access, sign into OneNote on your laptop using the work account then add the notebook from there.
